Food:
We feed Purina Pro Plan Performance 30/20 Chicken and Rice Formula. This is an all life stages formula. This is a high quality food and all of our dogs do well on it. We order from chewy.com. You will receive a sample of this food when your puppy goes home. You are welcome to change to another brand but it needs to be done over the course of at least a week. A sudden change in diet can result in diarrhea. Start mixing our food with your new food at roughly a ratio of 25% to 75%. Slowly transition over a week. If diarrhea occurs, slow down the transition and contact your veterinarian.
Litter:
Your puppy has likely adapted well to using the litter pan while living with us. The litter we use is a pelleted newspaper cat litter. We order it through chewy.com but it can be purchased at some local pet stores.
Chews:
We recommend only American made FLAT rawhide. Do not offer "bone shaped" rawhide. Nylabones are also appropriate for young chewers.
Vaccine Protocol:
Your puppy received his or her first vaccine at 8 weeks of age. It is usually recommended that they receive booster vaccines at 12 and 16 weeks but check with your veterinarian. Different practices have some variation in vaccine protocol.
